Daughter to the Rescue

Well over a decade ago I retired from teaching at Indiana University. At about that same time, I decided to create a personal website, and it sufficed for most purposes.  But more recently, I felt like it really needed an overhaul or Spring cleaning. My technology skills have never been great. I tried some reconfiguring on my own, but the experience was mostly frustrating.  I even tried getting “professional” help.  However, the great rescue from this sad situation came in the form of a shift to an easier hosting site (Squarespace) and especially through an exceptionally generous offer from my daughter, Alexis Stahl. She volunteered to help me bring everything together in a new format that I can (I hope) build on for years to come.  I want to take this opportunity to thank Alexis for her talent, creativity, guidance, and patience in creating this website and rescuing past materials that make up the fixed content.  Her MFA in Art is certainly reflected in the aesthetic aspects of the design, but I am also simply grateful for the kind of “how to” knowledge that she has.  Creating and maintaining a website is much more demanding than you might think.

And speaking of creating websites, let me close with a shout out to another website Alexis has made and maintains:   https://www.timandmabel.com/

The Tim of timandmabel.com is Alexis’s partner, Tim LaCrosse, and he is the jeweler whose wonderful designs are the subject of that website. Check it out.  Just in time for Mother’s Day and Father’s Day. You will be delighted.
