Introducing Those Handel Friends

In the blog entries, Those Handel Friends, I am bringing some of the characters from my book The Handel Letters to life again, along with some newer characters, in a continuing endeavor to see what our thinking about Handel and his times might inspire in us today.

In my book The Handel Letters: A Biographical Conversation, I introduced a set of fictional characters who met regularly to discuss a cache of letters ostensibly written to the composer George Frideric Handel back in the 1700s. Their “conversation” ended when the book was published in 2017. However, here in this blog category, I am bringing some of these characters to life again, along with some newer characters, in a continuing endeavor to see what our thinking about Handel and his times might inspire in us today. They “meet” this time via texts on a computer rather than in person, though the younger characters nag me to use less cumbersome technology. But I am the author.
