A Lonely Auld Lang Syne
Here are some of the many objects that adorn my walls, objects that I have come to appreciate as pieces of art but also as mementos, things made or given to me by my daughter, my brother, my sister, and others. In this year of staying home, I have learned to treasure these objects for the memories they spark as well as the beauty they hold. This pandemic year has given me a different kind of Auld Lang Syne—a lonely one, yes, but one that recalls in this unusual way some of the wonderful people in my life.
